John Mayer Is Ready for Some Changes
Hollywood | admin | November 24, 2009 at 2:30 pmJohn Mayer really lives by the words in his songs — the musician mostly just “says what [he] means to say,” no matter how outlandish. This time, he said he needs to have sex with more ladies. Because, you know, other than Jennifer Aniston and a few others, he hasn’t really let loose. And, when he does, he just gets bashed in the tabloids.Well, it’s taken a toll. “It’s crazy to me that in my head, that being 32 and dating women is going to get me in trouble,” he said to The New York Times. “I can’t even explain to you how terrible that feels, that I equate dating a woman with punishment, shame, guilt, disappointment, reproach, reprimand, persecution. It’s a nightmare.”
And, John said he’s not only planning to sleep with some more women, he’s ready to take some chances in the music department, too. He said: “There’s nothing I’ve done musically that’s been a wild misstep. Basically, you’re saying, can you risk failure? And that’s something that I’m struggling with right now, because in my life, I would like to do something in music that risks a misstep.”
John’s new album Battle Studies just came out, and he’s touring in Canada beginning tomorrow. Maybe he’ll meet a nice Canadian girl and then write an entire album while holed up with her for one crazy, romantic week and really live on the wild side. After all, he said to his screaming fans at a concert recently: “They say I’m a womanizer. I say I haven’t met enough women.” He’s in the market, ladies!
Maybe he’ll change his tune for his next album, but he continued to play it safe for his new release. Battle Studies has a duet with Taylor Swift, after all, and we’re pretty sure there’s not much risk for disaster singing with that country superstar.
